New South Wales Calendar and General Post Office Directory 1832

The following search will list entries from the General Post Office Directory section of the publication 'The New South Wales Calendar and General Post Office Directory, 1832'.

This Calendar and Directory was compiled by James Raymond, Postmaster of New South Wales 1829-35 and Postmaster-General 1835-51, with assistance from various government departments, and primarily as a reference work for use in his own department. It was the first such publication to include a directory of householders.

This searchable index contains all entries (nearly 2,500 names) in the General Post Office Directory section of the publication.

It should also be noted that we have transcribed the index “as is” meaning that we have not corrected any spelling errors or abbreviation

Search Hint:
For common names (eg James, which can be both a given name and a surname) we would suggest using the “Starts with” search option. This will limit the search results to only those entries that start with the search criteria entered). For example if “James” was entered and  “Starts with” search option selected then records such as “James Peter ..” would be displayed while records such as “Koch James ...” would not be displayed.
